How to wash

Complete guides to washing duvets, down jackets, curtains, shoes and specialty textiles

Every textile reacts differently to washing, so its care label remains the reference. Our guides explain GINETEX symbols, load preparation, choosing enough drum space and drying precautions. For a machine-washable duvet or bulky load, an 18 kg (40 lb) washer is available at both open laundromats. Use our laundry weight calculator before your visit.

FAQ

Can you machine wash a king-size duvet?
Yes, if the care label allows machine washing. The duvet needs enough room to move in the drum; both of our open laundromats have an 18 kg (40 lb) washer for bulky items.
What temperature should you use for delicate fabrics?
There is no single temperature for every delicate textile. Follow the care label and, when it allows machine washing, choose an on-site programme compatible with the fabric.
How do you prevent clothes from shrinking in the wash?
Follow the care label, avoid any temperature or drying method it forbids and do not overload the drum. No setting can guarantee zero shrinkage for every textile.
